HONOLULU - Command members from Tripler Army Medical Center welcomed the Medical Officer of the U.S. Marine Corps, Rear Adm. Gayle Shaffer, Rear Adm. Louis Tripoli, command surgeon, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM), and leaders from the 3d Medical Battalion and U.S. Marine Corps Forces – Pacific to discuss a partnership between the medical center and Marine Corps Health Services at the TAMC command suite, May 30. The proposed partnership supports the Defense Health Agency’s multi-service health care provision model and would integrate physicians, nurses, and ancillary personnel from the 3d Medical Battalion to Tripler while supporting the Marine Corps with a ready medical force in alignment with USINDOPACOM strategic lines of effort. The guests also toured the hospital’s Emergency Department, Intensive Care Units, and the Medical Simulation Center to gain first-hand knowledge of the unique capabilities at Tripler that support health services across a full-range of military operations.
