Soldiers of the 34th Red Bull Infantry Division partook in the 18.6-mile Norwegian Foot March while deployed to the Middle East in support of Task Force Spartan on May 25, 2019. Commemorating the 68th anniversary of the death of Capt. (CH) Emil Kapaun, posthumous Congressional Medal of Honor recipient, after an 87-mile forced march to a North Korean prisoner of war camp. More than 200 Soldiers participated in the event carrying a 25-pound ruck the distance in hopes of finishing in time to earn the Norwegian Armed Forces skill badge. The march keeps a strong heritage and enduring relationship between Norway and the Minnesota National Guard.
