    Illinois Governor Commits Additional National Guard Forces to Flood Fight

    Illinois Army National Guard UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters took the Governor and several state and federal emergency management officials on a survey of flooded areas of the Illinois and Mississippi Rivers on June 4 starting at the State Unified Area Command in Winchester, Illinois. The helicopters were part of the 1st Battalion, 106th Aviation Regiment based in Decatur, Illinois. The Governor activated an additional 200 Illinois National Guard Soldiers to help fight severe flooding.
