Brig. Gen. James M. Lariviere, commanding general of 4th Marine Division, talks with Royal Navy Cmdr. Paddy McAlpine, commander of the United Kingdom Task Group, aboard Her Netherlands Majesty's Ship Rotterdam, March 11. Lariviere and Sgt. Maj. George Muskievicz, sergeant major of Headquarter Battalion, 4th Marine Division, sat down for dinner with other officers involved in Exercise Cold Response 2012 to discuss the exercise and other relevant topics. The general and sergeant major toured the Dutch landing platform dock amphibious-warfare ship while visiting Norway March 10-12 for the exercise. The ship is supporting Company K, 3rd Battalion, 24th Regiment, 4th Marine Division, during their participation in the exercise. The multinational invitational event focuses on rehearsing mid-intensity operations in winter conditions and exercising the interoperability with the NATO allies.
