The Motor Vessel Deana Ann moves through the Mississippi River Pool 2, just upriver of Lock and Dam 2 in Hastings, Minn., March 17. The tow is the first of the season to reach Pool 2, which is considered to be the start of the navigation season for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District. The Corps operates all of the locks and dams along the river for navigational use.
