Richard Goldenberg presents former Army Pfc. and World War Ii veteran Harry Myers with a New York State Medal of Merit at the 75th Anniversary of D-Day commemorative celebration at the Veterans’ Home in Oxford, N.Y., on June 6th, 2019. The New York State Medal for Merit was presented to veterans of the allied invasion of Normandy during a statewide commemoration of the 75th anniversary of D-Day as part of an effort organized by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo. Ceremonies were held at five New York State Veterans Homes, with senior leaders of the New York National Guard participating to honor surviving World War II veterans and presenting 26 state medals.
