Aviation Ordnanceman Petty Officer 3rd Class Roger Sparks signals for a HH-60H Seahawk, attached to the "Eightballers" of Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron (HS) 8, to lift up from the loading area of the flight deck of Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74). Stennis is transferring ammunition to the Military Sealift Command ammunition ship USNS Flint (T-AE 32) during a weapons off-load. Stennis, and Carrier Air Wing 9, as part of the John C. Stennis Carrier Strike Group, are on a regularly scheduled deployment to promote peace, regional cooperation and stability.
