Master Sgt. Ryan Peltier, the project manager for the bridge construction, oversees the movement of the bridge over the waterway to ensure safety procedures are being followed and correct placement of the bridge. The bridge is being placed at the Iron Mike drop zone just outside of Sainte-Mère-Église, France, June 5, in preparation for the upcoming Airborne operations. More than 1,300 U.S. Service Members, partnered with 950 troops from across Europe and Canada, have converged in northwestern France to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Operation Overlord, the WWII allied Invasion of Normandy, commonly known as D-Day. Upwards of 80 ceremonies in 40 French communities in the region are scheduled to take place between June 1-9, 2019.
