NAVAL SUPPORT FACILTY DEVESELU, Romania (June 2, 2019) - U.S. Navy and Romanian military members hosted veterans and Romanian Air Force Lt. Gen. (ret.) Ion Dobran, a former Deveselu Air Force Base Commander during World War II, for an annual visit to Naval Support Facility in Deveselu Sun., June 2, 2019. Of the veterans, Dobran, who just turned 100 years old, was famous for shooting down World War II American pilot First Lt. Barrie Davis, assigned to 325 Aviation Hunting Group of the U.S. Army Air Forces, near Galati, Romania, on June 6, 1944.
