Col. Gregory Ota, the Commander of the Illinois Army National Guard's 129th Regional Training Institute, presents Command Sgt. Maj. Steven Krause's spouse, Rebecca, with a Certificate of Appreciation from the Army Chief of Staff. After more than 31 years of military service, Command Sgt. Maj. Steven C. Krause of Yorkville, Illinois, retired from the Illinois Army National Guard on Sunday, June 9, at Camp Lincoln in Springfield, Ill. Krause began his service as a private in the ILARNG's Company C 1st Battalion, 131st Infantry. He was selected as the Command Sergeant Major of 2nd Squadron, 106th Cavalry in 2009. In 2017, he became the Commandant of the 129th Regiment, Regional Training Institute.
