SAN DIEGO (June 5, 2019) -- Lt. Andrew Bergstrom, the commanding officer of Coastal Riverine Squadron 3 Mark VI Patrol Boat 1404, observes his crew as they conduct training off the coast of San Diego. Bergstrom, from Dallas, Texas, is one of the Navy’s first surface warfare officers to assume the new Coastal Riverine Force (CRF) command-at-sea billets on the Navy’s new cutting-edge Mark VI patrol boat. Members of the CRF conduct missions in support of port and harbor security, maritime force protection, high-value asset security, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, and training/partnership exercises with foreign nations.
