Brig. Gen. Kris A. Belanger, Commanding General, 85th U.S. Army Reserve Support Command looks at a scrapbook compiled by Aida Bonsonto of her husband’s Army service during World War II. Gerald “Jerry” Bonsonto of Chicago was trained as a medic and served with the 82nd Airborne Division on battlefields across Europe including the Battle of the Bulge. Belanger visited with Bonsonto and her family Memorial Day weekend 2019 to receive a parachute wedding dress that will be on loan to the 82nd Airborne Division War Museum at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
