U.S. Army Soldier Spc. Eric Thomas with Comanche Troop, 1st Squadron, 2nd Cavalry Regiment, digs a hasty fighting position under the supervision of Spc. Camden Bowers on June 16, 2019, during Operation Saber Guardian 19, at Cincu, Romania. The infantrymen established observation points while preparing for a simulated attack by the Romanian army in during a force-on-force training exercise. Saber Guardian 2019 is an exercise co-led by Romanian Land Forces and U.S. Army Europe, taking place from June 3-24, to enhance joint and combined interoperability across a variety of mission sets between Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania, the U.S. NATO allies and Partnership for Peace Nations.
