Texas Raiders, a B-17G Flying Fortress with the Commemorative Air Force, flies during the Wings Over Whiteman airshow on June 15, 2019, at Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri. The B-17 was one of the primary heavy bombers for the United States Army Air Forces during World War 2 and served alongside the B-24 Liberator in the European theater as a high altitude strategic bomber in daylight raids, in the Pacific theater it served alongside the B-29 Superfortress in a variety of roles.
