Sailors heave the brow as the Whidbey Island-class amphibious dock landing ship USS Gunston Hall (LSD 44) prepares to deploy from Joint Logistics Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story. Gunston Hall deployed as part of the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group with the embarked 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit and will support maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th and 6th Fleet areas of responsibility.
