Maj. Anthony Judge, project manager for the security of the Abu Nuwas Project and executive officer for the 1st "Red Devil" Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, discusses the changes with Reuters during media day regarding the opening of the Abu Nuwas fish marketplace in eastern Baghdad Sept. 4. The California native and his Soldiers spent five months restoring the security of the area. The effort to revitalize the area economically was a major endeavor by the 2nd Brigade Combat Team (Infantry), which hosted the event to Iraqi and western media to showcase the highlights of success from new restaurants known for serving mazgouf fish, a Baghdad delicacy cooked over wood fires, and to introduce clean parks for families of Baghdad to enjoy in a secure environment.
