Pfc. Simon Zhong, a scout with Alpha Troop, 1st Squadron, 89th Cavalry Regiment, sets up perimeter security after exiting a CH-47 Chinook during helicopter cold-load training at the Joint Readiness Training Center, March 14. 1-89th Cav. deployed to JRTC with the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (LI), to assist in training hundreds of members of Security Force Assistance Teams. The SFATs will be deploying to Afghanistan to advise and assist Afghanistan's police and military to facilitate the transition of the country's security to them.
