Command Sgt. Maj. John Lepowsky, a tank soldier from Freemont, Minn., stands before his newest sergeants as they pledge to uphold the charge of a non-commissioned officer. Lepowsky, the senior enlisted member of the Brainerd, Minn. based 1st Combined Arms Battalion, 194th Armor, welcomed 45 new sergeants into the NCO Corps. Lepowksy will mark his 30th year of service in the Army during his deployment to Kuwait, serving longer in uniform than most of these new sergeants have even been alive.
