Murphy holds his daughter as she shifts his command at sea pin after being relieved as commanding officer of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS John S. McCain (DDG 56) by Cmdr. Ryan T. Easterday during the ship’s change of command ceremony, July 2, 2019 at Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Japan. McCain was commissioned on July 2, 1994 in Bath, Maine and was originally named in honor of Admirals John S. McCain Sr. and Jr. In a rededication ceremony on July 12, 2018 the late Sen. John S.
