The Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) transits Coronado Bay as she arrives at Naval Air Station North Island in San Diego, Aug. 27. Stennis will disembark Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 9 before continuing on to her homeport of Bremerton, Wash. The John C. Stennis Carrier Strike Group returned after a 7 1/2-month deployment promoting peace, regional cooperation and supporting the Global War on Terrorism.
