U.S. Marine Cpl. Jessie Robinson, a tank crew Marine with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit, scrubs the skirt of a M1A1 Abrams Main Battle Tank in the well deck of the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD-3). The Marines were performing preventative maintenance on the tanks to inhibit rust and other mechanical issues. The Kearsarge is nearing the end of a scheduled deployment as part of the 22nd MEU and the Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group, where it supported of maritime security operations, crisis response and theater security cooperation, and also provided a forward Naval and Marine presence.
