Australian Lt. Gen. Greg Bilton, who serves as Air Marshall, Commander Forces Command, Chief of Joint Operations, addresses a multinational military group from the Indo-Pacific Region, in a hangar bay of the USS Ronald Reagan, July 7, during the opening ceremony of Exercise Talisman Sabre 2019, in the Port of Brisbane, Australia. Talisman Sabre is an annual exercise in its 18th iteration since 2001, developing Australian and United States interoperability at the campaign, operational and tactical levels while strengthening security for a free and open Indo-Pacific. The exercise will include over 34,000 personnel operating from the air, land and sea from July 11th through July 24th. “This exercise is a monumental undertaking, reflecting the strength of the United States and Australian alliance, and the closeness of our military to military partnerships,” Bilton said.
