Fred Strickland, an engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District, douses a ring of propane fire during a training exercise, April 7, 2012, in Folsom, Calif. Strickland and nearly 20 corps employees participated in yearly fire extinguisher safety training, mandated by Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and conducted by the district’s safety office. The training included a video presentation, group discussion, followed by a timed live-fire exercise.
