Search and rescue (SAR) swimmers assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) swim 1,000 meters while conducting proficiency training on SAR techniques and tactics in the Persian Gulf on Aug. 20. Bonhomme Richard holds routine training for SAR swimmers in order to maintain their level of proficiency. Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group is conducting maritime operations in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
