190709-N-UN744-0035 - DAKAR, Senegal (July 9, 2019) - Musician 3rd Class Raymond Carega, drummer for the U.S. Naval Forces Europe Band Topside and native of New Brunswick, New Jersey, provides music for a performance piece by Ibrahima Fainke from the National Fine Arts School in Dakar, Senegal, during an Africa Partnership Station community engagement at the Blaise Senghor Regional Culture Center of Dakar, July 9, 2019. The band is embarked aboard the Spearhead-class expeditionary fast transport ship USNS Carson City (T-EPF 7) on a deployment in the Gulf of Guinea to demonstrate progress through partnership and U.S. commitment to West Africa through small boat maintenance assistance, maritime law enforcement engagement, and medical and community relations outreach.
