    SEQUIM, Wash. (July 16, 2019) - Builder 2nd Class Tristan Douglas, a native of Ft. Wayne, Ind. and assigned to Naval Facilities Engineering Command Northwest, assists in the transporting of a tribal canoe during a canoe landing hosted by the Lummi Nation. The canoe landing is part of the Intertribal Canoe Journey - Paddle to Lummi, a heritage-rich event started in 1989, which features multiple tribal nations from along the Salish Sea, along the Pacific Coast, British Columbia, and Alaska traveling via canoe to numerous tribal landing sites and culminating in a landing in the Lummi Nation.
