A plaque, dedicated to aviator and Belgian Air Force Col. Joseph Daumerie, is displayed on a building inside Caserne Daumerie in Chièvres, Belgium, May 5, 2019. Born in the nearby town of Brugelette, Daumerie was executed by the Nazi regime in Berlin in 1942 and is considered a wartime hero for his efforts in the Belgian Resistance. The plaque is one of the numerous historical resources visible on Caserne Daumerie. (U.S. Army photo by Pierre-Etienne Courtejoie)
