Jake Kruse, of Ankeny, Ia., infantrymen with Headquarters and Headquarters Company (HHC), 168th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Iowa Army National Guard (IANG) check each other’s field gear during a 21-day eXportable Combat Training Capability (XCTC) rotation at Camp Ripley, Minn., on July 17, 2019. HHC conducted troop leading procedures during the exercise to prepare for perimeter defense missions. XCTC is an instrumented brigade field training exercise designed to certify platoon proficiency.
