Col. Roger Garay, Joint Task Force African Lion commanding officer, discusses the exercise and the benefits of working bilaterally with the U.S. and Royal Moroccan Armed Forces, at the PSO exercise site in Tifnit, Morocco, April 10, 2012. AL-12 is a U.S. African Command-sponsored, Marine Forces Africa-led exercise designed to improve interoperability and mutual understanding of the United States and Kingdom of Morocco's military tactics, techniques and procedures. Garay, a Fredericksburg, Va., native, is also the commanding officer of 14th Marine Regiment, based out of Fort Worth, Texas.
