190720-N-BK917-1020 CORAL SEA (July 20, 2019) – Lt. Robbie Dobbins, from Fleming Island, Florida, takes laser range measurements between the dry cargo and ammunition ship USNS Richard E. Byrd (T-AKE 4), and the assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1). Wasp, flagship of the Wasp Expeditionary Strike Group, with embarked 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, is currently participating in Talisman Sabre 2019 off the coast of Northern Australia. A bilateral, biennial event, Talisman Sabre is designed to improve U.S. and Australian combat training, readiness and interoperability through realistic, relevant training necessary to maintain regional security, peace and stability.
