U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Daniel Insurriaga, 61st Air Lift Squadron operations superintendent, Little Rock Air Force Base, Ark., competes in an obstacle race during the Alpha Warrior Super Regional Battle July 20, 2019, at Joint Base San Antonio-Medina Annex, Texas. Insurriaga took second-place during the competition. The Air Force will send the best male and female Air Force wide from 20 regions to compete in the Super Regional Competitions hosted at five locations. The top six males and six females will advance to San Antonio, Texas, where they will compete in the Air Force Battle Championship. The Air Force Alpha Warrior program specializes in creating obstacle courses for the military, which test agility, functionality and resilience. A combination of obstacles and functional fitness apparatuses challenge competitors in various ways to include climbing, pull ups, gymnastic rings, running, and weight-lifting.
