Maj. Gen. Rex C. McMillian, commanding general of 4th Marine Air Wing, speaks with Beth Cuddy, a Peace Corps volunteer at the village of Amskroud April 15 during African Lion 2012. Peace Corps members worked peripherally with medical providers and dental technicians from the U.S. and Moroccan military to improve health care conditions in five remote villages in the Agadir, Morocco, area. African Lion is an annually scheduled bilateral exercise between the U.S. and Moroccans aimed at improving cooperation and interoperability while exchanging ideas about tactics, techniques and procedures. The exercise is comprised of field, aviation, and amphibious maneuvers, battalion level decision-making and intelligence capacity building workshops, peace support operations and the Humanitarian Civic Assistance mission. The Peace Corps' only involvement was providing health care information and translation skills in the villages visited by the HCA mission.
