Outgoing CARA acting director Lt. Col. Charles Asowata and incoming CARA director, Randall Bartley are joined by their wives, Gloria Asowata and Terri Bartley, as well as Asowata's daughter, Ama, and the commanding general, Brig. Gen. Lesllie Smith for a group photo following the CBRNE Analytical and Remediation Activity assumption of authority ceremony April 15 at the Edgewood Conference Center. Bartley is the third CARA director to lead the unit in its unique mission to provide support to combatant commanders, conduct stockpile and non-stockpile operations, remediation, provide analytical laboratory support, technical escort of surety and non-surety material, and counter CBRNE and WMD threats.
