An officer candidate conducts ammo can lifts during the combat fitness test (CFT) at Marine Corps Officer Candidates School aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, June 24, 2019. The CFT consists of three events: an 880-yard movement to contact, two minutes of ammo can lifts and a maneuver under fire, and is one of the two required fitness tests in the Marine Corps. The mission of Officer Candidates School is to educate and train officer candidates in Marine Corps knowledge and skills within a controlled and challenging environment in order to evaluate and screen individuals for the leadership, moral, mental, and physical qualities required for commissioning as a Marine Corps officer.
