Shaw, a pararescueman from the U.S. Air Force’s 31st Rescue Squadron, shares techniques with the Philippine Air Force’s 505th Rescue Squadron, on how to move heavy objects that inhibit rescue during Exercise Balikatan 2012 here April 17. Both units discussed tactics including ways to evaluate the situation, identifying a collapsed structure, creating passageways, moving heavy objects, and implementing improvised rescue harnesses and proper building marking procedures to minimize their exposure to dangers.
