190726-N-ZM469-010 STENNIS SPACE CENTER, Miss. -- International students attending Patrol Craft Officer Riverine and Coastal courses at the Small Craft Instruction and Technical Training School conduct proper checks of personal protective equipment during a float test conducted on July 26, 2019, at NAVSCIATTS facilities on the John C. Stennis Space Center.
The students representing Angola, Colombia, El Salvador, Malaysia, Panama, Philippines, Thailand, Honduras, and Peru are attending the international training command's semester 19-5, which will graduate on September 19, 2019.
PCOR and PCOC are eight-week courses of instruction designed to provide personnel with the knowledge and skills to operate riverine and coastal patrol craft in a patrol setting in accordance with approved doctrine. Course topics include human rights, mission planning, craft operational checks, navigation using paper charts and onboard electronic navigation equipment, utilization of onboard crew-served weapons, security patrols using night vision goggles, maritime interdiction operations and the transport of ground forces.
NAVSCIATTS is a Security Cooperation schoolhouse operating under United States Special Operations Command and Naval Special Warfare in support of Foreign Security Assistance and Geographic Combatant Commanders' Theater Security Cooperation priorities.
NAVSCIATTS trains and educates foreign Special Operations Forces, SOF-like forces and SOF enablers across the tactical, operational and strategic spectrums through in-residence and Mobile Training Team courses of instruction.
