NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (July 29, 2019) Electronics Technician 2nd Class Shaey Steele, from Vancouver, Washington, assigned to USS Gerald R. Ford's (CVN 78) reactor department, receives his Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist certificate from Cmdr. Emily Bassett, Ford's reactor officer, during a pinning ceremony in the ship's hangar bay. Ford is currently undergoing its post-shakedown availability at Huntington Ingalls Industries-Newport News Shipbuilding.
