A 105 mm Howiter shell is ejected from the artillery piece after being fired during the playing of the national anthem at the Thunder Over Louisville air show, April 21, 2012, in Louisville, Ky. Members of the Kentucky National Guard 138th Fires Brigade based in Lexington, Ky., performed the volley using blank shells which mimic actual rounds but have no explosive warhead.
