Officer Candidate School (OCS) class 01-20, here at Officer Training Command, Newport, Rhode Island, (OTCN) meet their Marine Corps Drill Instructors on Aug. 2, 2019. Drill Instructors are embedded with candidates to provide the full experience of the intensity of training and instill basic military bearing. OCS develops civilians and fleet Sailors into newly commissioned officers morally, mentally, physically and imbue them with the highest ideals of honor, courage and commitment in order to prepare graduates for service in the fleet as Naval officers.
