Sgt. Loren Waters, 442nd Engineer Utility Detachment, 1249th Engineer Battalion, Oregon Army National Guard, demonstrates proper rope knot tying techniques for a member of the Bangladesh Fire Services and Civil Defense (FSCD) during a Basic Rope Rescue Certification Training held July 15-19 at the Kalaeloa Urban Search and Rescue Training Area, Hawaii. Six Army Soldiers and four Airmen from the Oregon National Guard, who are urban emergency response experts, assisted in the training of Soldiers from Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines as well as participants from the Bangladesh Air Force and FSCD. The Hawaii Army National Guard hosted the multi-national training event, dubbed "Combined Task Force 501."
