Second Lt. Ben Garland, 375th Air Mobility Wing public affairs chief of media operations, runs sprints at the James Gym track as the sun goes down, March 12, 2012, on Scott Air Force Base, Ill. Garland worked out five hours a day to stay competitive for his shot with the Denver Broncos. He combined stretching and mobility exercises with strength conditioning, weightlifting and speed work each day.
