SAN DIEGO (August 2, 2019) Engineman 1st Class Carlos Weller, assigned to the Independence-class littoral combat ship USS Oakland (LCS-24), operates a virtual engineering plant in the LCS Engineering Plant Technician (EPT) course at Surface Warfare Officers School Site San Diego. With the LCS EPT course, conducted entirely within an Immersive Shipboard Virtual Environment, individual lessons are similar to shipboard on-the-job training but in a digital environment.
