CAMP EDWARDS, Mass. – Soldiers of 1st platoon, 1058th Transportation Company, Massachusetts Army National Guard, respond to a chemical attack during a training exercise here on Aug. 3, 2019. The gas attack uses actual irritant chemical agents (CS gas) for purposes of realism. Patriot Crucible 2019, the training exercise in which the soldiers are participating, is the first time CS gas has been used at the Cape Cod training facility. (U.S. Army photo by Maj. Brett Walker, 65th Press Camp Headquarters).
