190805-N-PL543-1263 SOUTH CHINA SEA (August 5, 2019) Sailors assigned to Air Department run to retrieve a holdback bar following the launch of an F/A-18E Super Hornet assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 195 aboard the Navy’s forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). The holdback bar is used to hold back the aircraft prior to its intended launch time. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the collective maritime interests of its allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific region.
