Byrd, a native of Jacksonville, Fla., and a horizontal construction engineer with Company A, 4-3 Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, ensures a roof supporting structure is firmly in its bracket, April 18, at a Habitat for Humanity single-family, four-bedroom home under construction in Savannah, Ga. Byrd and several soldiers volunteer with Habitat for Humanity on a weekly basis to hone their construction skills and help the community.
