U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Kevin Au, a drill status guardsman assigned to the 107th Civil Engineer Squadron, 107th Mission Support Group, 107th Attack Wing, New York Air National Guard, presented awards to his civilian supervisors Gwynne Morrison and Rick Pettis after organizing a surprise ceremony at Watts Architecture and Engineering, Buffalo, N.Y., June 7, 2019. Au nominated his employees to receive the Employer Support of Guard and Reserve Patriot Award. The award recognizes efforts made by the employers who support citizen warriors through a wide-range of measures including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families, and granting leaves of absence if needed.
