190808-N-BV658-1268 COLON, Panama (August 8, 2019) Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Handling) 1st Class Kacy Hoffer, from Santa Barbara, Calif., assigned to the hospital ship USNS Comfort (T-AH 20), mans the flight deck during a visit by Panamanian President Laurentino Cortizo. Comfort is working with health and government partners in Central America, South America, and the Caribbean to provide care on the ship and at land-based medical sites, helping to relieve pressure on national medical systems strained by an increase in Venezuelan migrants.
