Bilal Abdullah, a fire-fighter on Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan, prepares to stretch a fire hose 200 feet across the ground as part of an exercise fire drill at Task Force Belleau Wood, April 12. The fire department is made up of civilians from places such as Turkey, Kosovo, the United Kingdom and the United States. Gregory Proctor, the assistant fire chief at Camp Leatherneck said having fire-fighters from all over the world helps bring people with different skills to the department. "Bringing people from all over the world to be under one umbrella, if you can give them one standard and then depending on the instance or type of emergency, that can really come into play in a positive manner," said Proctor.
