    Avionics Technician 1st Class Brian Retig listens to a member of Independence Hall, an elderly care center in Port Everglades about past life experiences and joy of being an American. Wasp is in Port Everglades April 25-30 to celebrate Navy Week Port Everglades - a bicentennial of the War of 1812 commemorative event. Overall 3,000 sailors and Marines, six ships from the United States are involved in the Navy Week events. The commemoration of the Bicentennial of the War of 1812 is a salute to all sailors and Marines who fought gallantly in that conflict, who have served in out nations' conflicts since then, and who are defending freedom around the world today.
