Private 1st Class Jacob Phillips (left), and Sgt. Toby Bernard, both serving with the 1st Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment (Wolfhounds), 2nd Brigade, Inf. Brig. Combat Team, fold the American flag as a Fijian Soldier with the 3rd Battalion, Fiji Inf. Regt., retired the Fijian colors during the closing ceremony of Pacific Pathways Exercise Cartwheel 2019 in Labasa, Fiji, Aug. 12. Exercise Cartwheel focused on providing a platform to deepen understanding and preparedness for potential emergency situations. Strengthening the U.S. Army and the Fijian military capabilities and enhancing key relationships with partner nations for a free and open Indo-Pacific.
